What's Happening in and Around Mancos this Month?
The Cortez Cultural Center, located at 25 N. Market Street, will host Native American dances outside on the plaza every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening @7pm through August 15th.
*Covid-19 safety measures in place include: face masks required, 6 feet social distancing, bathrooms will be sanitized after every use, indoor services sanitized regularly, and hand sanitizers will be available for guest use.
Travelers wanting to visit any national parks this summer (including Mesa Verde) should plan ahead with a visit to GO.NPS.GOV/VirtualRangerStation. You can buy a pass, find out what's open, and decide ahead of time what you want to do. A digital pass will be available to download and sent to you via email. When entering the park, show your digital pass to the ranger.
Trying to plan evenings with the kids? How about an old fashioned drive-in? The town of Dolores, just about 10 minutes from Starry Nights Ranch, is hosting free movies at their Joe Rowell Park for 5 nights in July: the 3rd, 10th, 17th ,24th, and 31st. There will be a 75-car maximum attendance and the lot opens 1 hour before the movies begin which is 9pm for the month of July. Concessions will be available but you can also get takeout in town to eat while watching the movie.
