Latest Happenings in Mancos

Hi Everyone!

Mancos has some exciting events coming up.  This Saturday, June 18th, is our annual Burrofest at Boyle Park starting at 10am.  If you haven't been to one yet, it's fun and exciting.  You will see the burros dressed up in their finest costumes for both artists and visitors.  They will participate in a trail obstacle course with an historic western theme creatively customized to the burro-packing days of SW Colorado.  If you're new to this type of event, you're in for a real treat.  The burros are hilarious -- seldom going where their owners want.  Which makes it even more fun!

One of the main goals of the Mancos Burro Fest is to highlight the work and talents of our area artists.  Each artist will be paired with a burro that is registered for the Trail Obstacle Corse & Costume Contest well in advance, giving the artist the opportunity to complete (or partially complete) a work of art with their burro as the subject prior to the event.  Each participating artist will have a booth where you can watch them working on their project.

Mancos also is featuring a "2nd Saturday Art Walk" on July 9, August 13, and September 10 from 4-7 pm.  There will be refreshments, entertainment, art demonstrations, and more.  Boomdiggity, Mancos Mystical Market featuring drums, jewels, and art, will be re-opening on June 18th during the Burro Fest.  Mancos Valley Farmers Market will be open on Thursdays from 4-7pm in Boyle Park.
